Motorola has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the motorola signature 27, at the Snapdragon Summit, showcasing what the company describes as its most advanced smartphone to date. Designed to deliver premium performance, cutting-edge artificial intelligence, and refined craftsmanship, the device is among the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform.
The launch also marks a new chapter for Motorola’s ultra-premium smartphone lineup. As the second-generation model in the Signature family, the motorola signature 27 introduces a new naming convention that aligns future devices with the last two digits of the coming year, creating a consistent identity for upcoming generations.
Powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the smartphone is engineered to deliver significant improvements in on-device AI processing, gaming performance, connectivity, and content creation. Motorola said the platform enables faster cloud-based AI experiences while providing the speed and reliability expected from a premium flagship device.
To sustain high performance during demanding workloads, Motorola has equipped the device with its new ArcticMesh cooling system, featuring diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber. The company claims the cooling system is 40% larger than the previous generation and helps maintain optimal performance during AI-intensive tasks, gaming, and video recording. Motorola has also committed to seven years of operating system and security updates.
Artificial intelligence is a major focus of the new flagship. The device integrates Google Gemini, enabling users to access advanced AI-powered assistance and creative tools. Features include Gemini Omni for transforming prompts, photos, and videos into polished content, as well as Lyria for generating original music and custom soundtracks. Motorola says these capabilities are designed to help users move seamlessly from ideas to action while maintaining control over their experiences.
Photography is another area where Motorola is aiming to raise the bar. The motorola signature 27 features a camera system headlined by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. The company says the setup is designed to deliver professional-quality photography across diverse shooting scenarios, from landscapes and architecture to low-light environments.
Complementing the hardware is Motorola’s AI-powered Video Enhancement Engine, which automatically adjusts color tones in real time by analyzing scenes before and during recording. Qualcomm’s image stabilization technologies combined with 3.5° optical image stabilization hardware further enhance video capture, providing smoother and more stable footage.
Audio also receives a significant upgrade. The motorola signature 27 is Motorola’s first smartphone to feature Audio by Bang & Olufsen (B&O), following the companies’ recently announced partnership. The collaboration aims to deliver a premium sound experience that enhances entertainment, communication, and content consumption.
In terms of design, the device features an aluminum frame, ceramic camera housing, and two distinctive finishes: PANTONE Coal Smoke in Tactical Weave and PANTONE Capulet Olive with a brushed textile-inspired texture. Motorola says the materials and finishes were chosen to blend luxury aesthetics with durability and usability.
Motorola confirmed that the motorola signature 27 is expected to launch globally in 2026, with additional details on availability and market rollout to be announced closer to release.
