User Rating: 9.1

Amazon’s latest Echo Studio promises improved sound quality, a compact and refined design, and enhanced smart capabilities. We try out the new Amazon Echo Studio, and here are our thoughts about the new smart speaker.

The latest Echo Studio speaker features a new and improved compact design that will suit any living space, and it’s the biggest of the Echo speaker line-up. The device comes with dimensions of 155 mm x 142.2 mm x 147.3 mm and weighs 1.63 kg. Amazon offers the speaker in both graphite and glacier white colors, and as you can see, we got the graphite model for review.

The speaker features the unique 3D knit fabric covering, and the front side comes with the touch-sensitive volume controls. There is also the mic mute button for those who value privacy, and it turns red when activated. There is also the spherical LED that lights up when you call Alexa or for other processes.

The graphite color appears to be a mix of dark grey and black colors. The overall 3D knit fabric covering gives the device a premium look, which should look good in any interior space.

The power connector is located on the rear side of the speaker. However, the device does not use USB-C cables for power connections, and it’s the same for other Echo speakers. The packaging includes the Echo Studio (2025 release), a 50W power adapter, and a quick start guide.

When it comes to audio quality, the Echo Studio features a 1x 3.75-inch high excursion woofer and three 2.25-inch full-range audio drivers for the best audio performance. The device is capable of handling audio bandwidth between 30 Hz – 18 kHz. For enhanced audio processing, the speaker has support for technologies such as distortion reduction, lossless high definition, Automatic Room Adaptation, Amazon’s Spatial Audio, and Dolby Atmos. We liked the audio quality playback of the Echo Studio.

As for the smart capabilities, the device uses Omnisense technology that is built for ambient AI for delivering better contextual awareness. This enables presence detection, temperature sensing, and tap gestures. The speaker is compatible with 1×1 Wi-Fi 6E 11a/b/g/n/ac/ax wireless connections and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 for those who want to connect their laptops or smartphones. Setting up the Echo Studio is easy, as you would do via the Amazon Alexa app.

Verdict

If you are looking for a premium smart speaker or would like to expand your Alexa Echo speaker line-up of devices, then the latest Amazon Echo Studio speaker is a great choice. The speaker is the largest of the Alexa Echo speaker lineup, and the device comes with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. The device features a unique spherical structure with 3D knit fabric covering that gives it a premium look.

The device comes with a touch-sensitive control surface on the front side. The speaker comes in both graphite and glacier white colors that suit different interior spaces. The speaker also features one 3.75-inch high excursion woofer and triple 2.25-inch full-range drivers for the best Alexa-powered performance, along with support for distortion reduction, lossless high definition, Automatic Room Adaptation, Amazon’s Spatial Audio, and Dolby Atmos.
