Shokz is popular for its lifestyle and sports-focused earbuds and headphones for those who want premium products while they hit the gym or during causal meetings. We got a chance to try out the all-new Shokz OpenFit Pro, and here are our thoughts about the headphones.

Design

The new OpenFit Pro is Shokz’s first headphone to include Open-Ear Noise Reduction capabilities. The earbuds feature ergonomic titanium ear hooks that help to ensure a steady fit, along with the Ultra-Soft Silicone 2.0 for lasting comfort. The earbuds weigh about 12.3 grams each, and the charging case weighs about 99.3 grams.  The earbuds are certified for sweat and rain resistance, making them a great choice for workout sessions and casual wear.

Both the earbuds and the charging case are made of plastic, aluminum alloy, and stainless steel. The charging case has support for Qi wireless charging, and the total weight of both earbuds and the charging case combined is 123.9 grams. Both the earbuds and the charging case feature a matte finish.

The charging case features an LED light indicator on the front side, along with a slim and stylish design. There is the SHOKZ logo on the charging case and the earbuds.

The packaging includes the OpenFit Pro earbuds, the charging case, a USB-C charging cable, a user guide, a legal statement, a warranty card, supporting accessories, and a card that highlights the Shokz smartphone application.

Features

The Shokz OpenFit Pro’s innovative open-ear design is capable of noise-cancellation, thanks to Shokz’s advanced noise control. Even with the open-ear design, the headphone is capable of cancelling out most of the outside noise. The speaker sensitivity is rated at 96 dB, and the microphone sensitivity is rated at -38 dB.

As for performance, the earbuds feature an air conduction transducer, with the frequency response ranging between 50 and 40 kHz, and the frequency band ranging between 2402 MHz and 2480 MHz. There is also a feature where the headphone is capable of recognizing when the earbuds are worn. With the Shokz App, you will be able to customize different parameters of the earbuds, customize EQ modes, perform firmware updates, and more.

The device also comes with the Shokz SuperBoost audio technologies for an enhanced audio experience. The earbuds come with the latest Bluetooth 6.1 wireless connectivity. As for the battery life, a 10-minute charge can deliver up to four hours of use. With the NC enabled, you can achieve about six hours of use and up to 50 hours when using the charging case. The battery life doubles when noise-cancellation is disabled.

Verdict

If you are looking for a premium, stylish outdoor earbuds that feature excellent performance and can endure workout sessions and casual wear, then the new Shokz OpenFit Pro earbuds are a great choice. The earbuds and the charging case come with a premium matte finish, made of plastic and aluminimum, and the earbuds come with an innovative open-ear design.

The device also comes with noise-cancellation, along with custom EQ settings, sound adaptations, and more. The audio quality and the noise-cancellation capabilities are great. The earbuds also come with IP55 certification for dust, sweat and water resistance. Users will be able to charge the charging case via USB-C or wireless charging, and the earbuds can last almost a day of use.
