Review: ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus

RecommendedZOTAC’s known around the world for its awesome mini PCs. The company seems to be on a product launch spree, launching one mini PC after another. What’s even more surprising is that ZOTAC’s been able to fit in some pretty impressive components into the ever shrinking chassis of its Mini PCs. Today we have the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus, which was launched in the Middle East region a couple of days ago.

This one comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of internal memory and a 500GB hard drive. In addition, the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus also accompanies 4K support, which sounds pretty awesome with all the recent 4K TV launches, the markets world over have seen.

The new ZBOX NANO ID68The packaging the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus comes in, is a stadard ZOTAC fare. Along with the system, we also get a stand that can be used to mount the system onto the back of a display, a Wi-Fi antenna, a 65w PSU and product documentation. In addition, as a bonus, ZOTAC also bundles a SATA card with the Zbox that lets you install two mSATA drives in the unit, after you remove the included mechanical drive.

In the front panel of the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus, you will find ports such as audio in/out, a multi card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, the power button and an IR receiver. At the back of the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus features ports such as DisplayPort, HDMI, two USB 3.0, GB-LAN, two USB 3.0 to eSATA and the Wi-Fi antenna. No OS is bundled though with the ZBOX Nano ID68 Plus.

In addition to all the computing goodness in the form of Intel Core i5 processor, the ZOTAC ZBOX Nano ID68 series features Intel HD Graphics 4400 for snappy 3D capabilities and brilliant HD audio and video playback capabilities. ZOTAC has also packed the Nano ID68 Plus with the new 802.11ac WiFi technology that allows the device to deliver better wireless networking capabilities.

When it comes to design and build quality, the ZBOX ID68 Plus stands out of the crowd. How often do you see a palm-sized PC that packs in awesome computing power? The Nano ID68 Plus is made for use on the desk and is easy to hide away with the blue LED ring adding some style and the metal frame keeping things robust. While the ID68 Plus boasts 4K support, it would have been awesome if ZOTAC had bundled a remote for watching 4K content.

Performance is also good – whether you are a professional or a home user, you will find the Nano ID68 Plus fitting your computing needs. The ZOTAC ZBOX ID68 Plus is for those who would want a palm sized portable full-featured PC that can be either carried around or used as a media device with today’s UHD TVs. Hence, the ZOTAC ZBOX ID68 Plus is highly recommended by Review Central.
