Review: Pro Evolution Soccer 15 (for PC)

EditorsChoiceSoccer games have been a staple genre for video game manufacturers for quite some time now. They target football fans, or soccer fans as they are called in the US, and bring to them all their favorite players in breathtakingly rich graphics. All the signature moves of the players are replicated, and many game developers go the extra mile and even get the players to do the voiceovers for their virtual characters.

Pro Evolution Soccer has had a long and successful career, and delivers on the expectations of its fans once again. With a Metacritic rating of 82, it has gained a lot of positive feedback from gamers as well.

Konami takes realism to the next level in the game with graphics that are better than ever. You get to relive all the drama that is so common on a football field in even greater details. Diehard fans of the game will also welcome back the unrestricted gameplay and the ability to take total control which they were used to.

PES15-1

The AI created for Pro Evolution Soccer 15 is also incredibly smart and makes for some really engaging games that are challenging. Not having every move predictable makes for a lot of fun time and you will certainly enjoy the level of details that the game provides when it comes to the facial features and expressions of the players.

The superb AI, the high quality graphics and the ability to play a virtual game of football without any restrictions are some of the biggest reasons for opting for this game. While EA does the overall aesthetics of the games better, such as rendering the grass on the field blade by blade and how it gets trampled and dug out during the course of the game, when it comes to the closeup movements and features of the players, Pro Evolution Soccer 15 takes the cake. The PES 15 is a fun game and also cheaper than EA FIFA15.

You can hear fan chants during the course of the game, but the variety is limited. The commentary is not up to the mark either, and comes across as shallow. While the players look gorgeous up close, they have a limited range of movements and activities, which may be annoying for some fans.

One thing that many gamers might have noticed in the FIFA series is how the camera gets disturbed and wobbles a bit when a team scores. The game shows that the fans get very excited. They start jumping up and down that the camera starts to wobble. This is certainly a nice touch on EA’s part and is missing in PES 15.

Pro Evolution Soccer 15 is an enjoyable game, albeit a slow one. Play it for the visually appealing graphics, the smart AI, and for the Manchester United team, which is the only Premier League team, which has made it to the PES without any kind of changes to the logo or name. Pro Evolution Soccer 15 hence wins our appreciation with Review Central’s Editors’ Choice award.
