Review: Wiko Goa

Wiko GOA is a smartphone for those who do not fall into the gimmick of first line smartphones, which price exorbitantly for great features which we seldom use. Wiko GOA is a phone with Android OS, which lets you perform all the common tasks a smartphone can do. Considering the price of the phone, the phone has decent features and specifications.

The design of the phone has been kept compact which easily slips into the pocket of your pant without making any fuss. The phone is not meant to be a super smartphone but is rather a simple phone with general features of a smart device that runs Android OS. It is reflected in the design of the phone which has curved edges and weighs 105 grams.

The dimension of the phone is 119×62.6×11.3 mm which is comfortably small and can be easily operated with a single hand. The TFT screen is 3.5 inches with a modest resolution of 480×320 Pixels. The pixel density of 164 ppi is ideal for viewing videos and using light apps. However, heavier videos and applications cannot be played on the screen.

Priced quite reasonably, the phone offers decent specifications in the price bracket. The phone is powered with ARM Cortex A-7 dual core 1 GHz processor which gives enough power to handle smaller apps like Facebook, Whatsapp and YouTube, but falters when subjected to applications and games which are graphics intensive.

A RAM of 512 MB can manage few apps open simultaneously, but not the heavier apps which require a lot of memory. The best part of the mobile phone is that it offers Android 4.4 which is quite an achievement for a phone priced at such a price. 4 GB of storage space is provided in the phone which can be expanded to 32 GB by inserting a micro SD card.

Wiko GOA, very surprisingly comes equipped with rear as well as front camera. The rear camera is modestly rated at 3.2 MP which can click normal pictures in good light condition. The front camera at 1.3 MP is fairly decent one and can be used to click selfies as well as doing video conferencing. Most of the default applications that come bundled with the OS, including YouTube, Google Map, etc. are present in the phone worth its price.

Talking about the performance of the phone, Wiko GOA delivers what it claims. The 1300 MAh battery gives a standby time of 384 hours. If used in a relaxed manner the phone pulls off for the entire day without asking for the juice. Smaller apps run without any hitch, but graphics intensive applications have trouble running on the device due to less powerful processor and RAM.

You can go with this phone which you simply require a smartphone, which is handy and is able to give you access to common apps. Expecting anything beyond it may disappoint you.
