Evleaks is now suggesting that the launch of Android Wear 2.0 has moved up to February 8th. That’s just a day ahead of the formerly reported launch. According to Evleaks, both the LG watches that have been leaking recently are going to be launching that same day.
The LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style are said to be the first smartwatches launching with Android Wear 2.0. Of course, they won’t be the only smartwatches with the updated version Android Wear, as Google will be pushing it out to a number of other smartwatches that are on the market.
The LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style are pretty similar, but of course the Watch Sport is more of a sporty smartwatch and it also is rumored to be priced at $249. The LG Watch Style is a bit more high-end looking, but it does also feature NFC and LTE connectivity.
Allowing you to use the smartwatch without it being paired to your smartphone. Additionally, with NFC connectivity, users will be able to use their smartwatch for Android Pay. Similar to the Gear S3 and Samsung Pay, for those with that smartwatch.
Android Wear 2.0 is a huge update for the wearable platform, and one that was announced last year at Google I/O actually. The update was due to be launched last fall, but Google ultimately opted to launch it in the first quarter of 2017 – which was later rumoured as February 9th.
