Careem, the region’s leading ride-hailing app, today introduced its popular instant and scheduled booking service in Ajman. Launched in 2012 in Dubai and now live in some 82 cities across 12 countries in the broader Middle East including North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan, Careem is changing the way people get around their cities through the help of technology.
Cars in Ajman will be Lexus and will appear in the app as a “GoPlus” car type. Prices will start at AED 7 for instant bookings and the minimum fare is AED 19. Knowing that many people will be using Careem for specific commutes from Ajman, Careem has introduced a set pricing model where customers can enjoy fixed fare price such as trips from Ajman City Centre to Dubai International Airport, Sharjah International Airport, Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
There are plans to introduce other car types like Max and Kids if the demand is seen from customers living and visiting the Emirate.
VP of Government and Business Relations for Careem, Bassel Al Nahlaoui commented: “As a home-grown brand that started life in the Emirates, it only makes sense for us to be serving the community of Ajman. We are really looking forward to understanding the city and what people need from us here – rolling out products and services that can help simplify people’s lives and at the same time creating more business for local Captains. Ajman is a beautiful city and one that is increasingly developing its appeal as a home for people to live and work in, as well as a tourist destination for visitors to the Middle East. We hope to play a strong role in the local community and to engage with businesses as well as customers that can benefit from our services and technology.”
