Google Pixel 5 renders gets leaked, features a punch-hole camera

Google Pixel 5

With Google getting ready to announce its next flagship smartphone, a series of images have surfaced of the upcoming Google Pixel 5 smartphone. The images came from trusted online leakster @onleaks, and from the looks of it, the smartphone does resemble the Google Pixel 4a.

The leaks suggest that the Pixel 5 may feature a screen size that falls between 5.7-inch and 5.8-inch. The display is also said to be flat without any sort of curves and there is also a single-lens punch hole camera, located on the top left side of the screen. Speaking of which, rumors indicate that Google may plan to use an OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate on Pixel 5. There were earlier reports that Google may be planning to announce an XL version of the Pixel 5, but with the leaked renders from @onleaks, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Looking at the back of the display, there is the camera module with three different camera sensors, along with the fingerprint scanner that is located in the usual position. While many may think that Google will slap the latest 800-series Qualcomm chip, word has it that Google plans to use the Snapdragon 765G processor. That’s quite an odd move from a company that places its Pixel series of smartphones as a premium product. Take this information with a pinch of salt.

That said, we think that Google’s decision to use the SD765G processor maybe because they want to deliver a smartphone that can provide optimum performance and longer battery life. BlackBerry and TCL follow the same idea with the BlackBerry KEYone and BlackBerry KEY2. Coming back to the topic, the upcoming Google Pixel 5 is said to be 8.1mm thick, and with the camera bump, the smartphone is 8.5mm thick. There is also the fact that Google Pixel 5 won’t have a 3.5mm audio jack. Google Pixel 5 is also expected to support 5G internet speeds. The smartphone also appears to feature a smooth texture on its rear side.

The battery of the Pixel 5 is said to hold a capacity of 3080 mAh. Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 5 and a 5G variant of the Pixel 4a by the end of September 2020. Both the new smartphones are said to come with 128GB of internal storage. The new Pixel 5 could also be the first smartphone to officially come with Android 11 OS.
