Sharp Aquos R6 goes official, comes with 240Hz refresh rate Pro IGZO OLED display and a 1-inch camera sensor

Sharp has announced its latest smartphone called the Aquos R6. Apart from the fact that the smartphone comes with flagship specifications, the Aquos R6 features a 1-inch camera sensor that is the biggest used on a smartphone.

The new image sensor is jointly developed with Lecia and can capture 20MP images. The camera comes with a lens designed by Lecia and Sharp. The aperture is f/1.9 and the focal length equivalent to 19mm. There is also the ToF sensor that is located next to the main camera. The shooter features EIS (electronic image stabilization). However, it does not come with OIS.

Sharp mentions that the new sensor performs well in low-light situations with better dynamic range and reduced image noise as compared to the standard smartphone cameras in the market. On the front of the smartphone is a 12MP selfie snapper. The smartphone is the first in the world to feature a 6.67-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a dynamic refresh rate that changes between 1Hz and 240Hz. The screen resolution is 2730 x 1260 pixels. The smartphone also features an under-display fingerprint scanner.

With all the impressive specifications, the Aquos R6 is also waterproof and dustproof. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and paired with 12GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The internal battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh.

The new Sharp Aquos R6 will come in Black and White colors. For now, the smartphone is only launched for the Japanese market. We will update you once the new smartphone hits the UAE shelves.
