AOC’s I2769VM monitor is one cool-looking borderless monitor. It’s an ultra slim 27-inch monitor that comes with an ultra-narrow bezel measuring at just 2mm. The monitor is obviously targeted at users who would like to build a multiple monitor setup. The I2769VM features an IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel, a superior type of screen that promises good image appearance, higher definition, better colour accuracy and better viewing angles.
Setting up the monitor is a walk in the park – no going through messy controls and options here. It’s a simple plug and play monitor. You will find the menu controls at the bottom edge of the monitor. Hunting for the buttons does take some time because they don’t come with backlighting.
Once the on screen menu pops up, you see a lot of options in there. The options include Eco mode which reduces the power consumption – both when it’s on, and on standby. You can also adjust the sharpness of the monitor with the Clear Vision setting. The monitor in itself is full HD, offering a resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels.
The AOC I2769VM also comes with ample connectivity options such as HDMI, HDMI with MHL for smartphones, VGA, and DisplayPort. The monitor features a 5ms response time and since it features IPS technology, viewing angles are increased to greater than 170 degrees.
The monitor also boasts 50,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio – so playing games and watching movies on the I2769VM is a smooth experience. The I2769VM monitor can also be detached from the stand and be wall-mounted with a VESA 75mm Wall Mount.
The overall performance of the AOC I2769VM was quite good. The contrast ratio and brightness was also good. For an affordable price tag of $299, with the AOC I2769VM, you get a fairly large IPS screen that offers brilliant colours, ample connectivity options, and good performance, be it for gaming sessions or movie marathons.
