It looks like Huawei is getting ready to compete against the likes of Samsung when it comes to foldable smartphones. The company is set to unveil a new foldable smartphone called the P50 Pocket.
The new device is expected to be officially unveiled on December 23rd and has a clamshell vertical form factor, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Motorola Razr. There aren’t many details yet regarding the specifications, but it is rumored that the device will feature two vertically-aligned cameras on the rear side.
Since Huawei hasn’t yet done a year-end smartphone announcement, the company calls the device a “winter flagship”. While there isn’t any confirmation on whether the company will be using a Kirin 9000 or a Snapdragon flagship SoC to power the device, the smartphone is expected to feature a heat pipe that can bend with the foldable form-factor to offer improved heat management.
