Review: Samsung Galaxy Tab S

Samsung has supposedly been the most prominent smartphone and tab manufacturer by launching new devices probably every quarter. Samsung Galaxy Tab S is another offering from the Korean mobile manufacturer with its large screen size of 10.1 inch is out to impress the enthusiasts the patrons of bigger screen size.

Apart from the screen size, the tablet also has several other features which have the potential to be lapped by the users. In an attempt to take on the rival iPad, Samsung has introduced many features which sometimes feel like a conundrum.

The tablet from Samsung comes in two variants which different screen sizes- 8.4 inches and 10 inches. Samsung has definitely packed a punch by the Super Amoled screen which makes each and every thing look rich in color and vibrance. This is what gives the Samsung an edge over other tabs as most of them are not able to offer a screen which has the similar clarity and sharpness as mobile phones.

The amazing sharpness of the screen is achieved by the resolution of 1600×2560 pixels and the vivid colors will catch your attraction as soon as the screen is switched on. It is one of the selling points of Samsung tabs and the people out there know how to encash it.

Samsung off late has paid heed to the look and feel of this tab. The first thing that would strike anybody in this model is its color and the slickness. The titanium bronze color somewhat resembles the color of golden S5.

The dotted back panel can be found as well, which is an another extension of Galaxy S5. The area near the earpiece and the home button has metallic accents which are distracting at times. Probably skeptical about whether this look would appeal to everyone, this device is also available in white color.

The tablet is quite slim and is devoid of the plastics feel which Samsung phones are notorious about. The arrangement of camera, home button, power button and volume rocker button are similar to the other tablets of Samsung.

Samsung has incorporated some of the features which have been accepted well by the users which include the fingerprint locking system. The device is powered by a powerful octa-core processor from Exynos 5420 which has 4 ARM cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz and other 4 others at 1.3 GHz.

The device decides how many cores to utilize to save power and maximize efficiency. The internal memory of the phone is 16 GB and the RAM provided is 3 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S like any other Samsung phone has been priced exorbitantly but considering the features and the looks, it does not seem that it would be a deterrent for the Samsung lovers. For others, it might not be an option worth choosing.
