Magicka 2 is an ultimate wizard bursting carnage! It is the leaner, meaner and better looking version of its predecessor that was released in 2011. It is a magic based game in which you will have to use spells to win the battles. Anyone who have played with earlier version will see a lot of similarities in Magicka 2 as it is the same magical combat that user experienced in the 2011 version, in which colorful wizards sling spells at the monsters like orcs, goblins, gun-toting demons and ents.
The earlier essence of the game is still maintained with the help of its control mechanics. The game has better visuals and smoother controls which make it look different from earlier versions. There is no experience points, no need to open smash up chests and no inventory, there are just eight elements between you and the villains in the game.
The combat in the game is totally skilled based and it depends on how fast you can use your keyboard. Dumb the things down and click on the elements to launch the spells. You can hit arcane to launch the death beams, hit the water for a spout of water and hit fire to activate the mystical flame thrower.
A lot of experimentation will be required in order to get most of the spell castings, which indicates that this time the combat will be complex. You will be able to use five elements at once, but you need to be careful as some form good match, while others can be opposite like add cold shield for a frozen wall or combine earth and fire to unleash flaming boulders at the enemy. You will have to really research a lot by combining more than two spells to get most to get a hold on powerful spell effects.
Similar to the previous version, Magicka 2 also feature with a superpower called magick that help to take incantations to the next level. One of the major changes made in the game is that the spells can be accessed through hot keys rather than having a burden of hitting the combination of three or more keys. In the previous version you were limited by the speed of your fingers, but Magicka 2 comes with a cooldown period.
Both the one-off challenge and adventure campaign are really very hard to manage if you are playing solo and those who want to finish it alone without any help will need an easier difficulty level. One of the major change made in the Magicka 2 is that you can spell and run at the same time, which was missing in the previous version.
One of the major drawbacks of the game is that everything becomes so confusing because of death dreams and explosions that you can easily lose where were you on the screen. This time Magick 2 features with better graphics and are more colorful with better details. The sound quality is also good, but a little cartoonish.
