Drawing inspiration from the original 1983 DW-5000C — the first-ever G-SHOCK watch — the GMW-BZ5000RC-1 brings a gradient rainbow ion-plated finish to one of the most recognisable silhouettes in G-SHOCK history. The vibrant finish evokes the shifting nature of future energy and captures the next chapter in G-SHOCK evolution for a generation shaped by technology, design, and contemporary culture. As each rainbow ion-plated finish is uniquely applied, every watch carries its own individual expression and character.
At the heart of the design is a co-creative process between human designers and artificial intelligence. Using more than 40 years of accumulated G-SHOCK shock-resistance data, AI-assisted structural analysis and 3D modelling optimization have been used to create an unprecedented bold full-metal form. The rainbow ion-plated centre case creates constantly shifting reflections, while gold ion-plated screws, rainbow vapor-deposited glass and contrasting metal finishes add depth and dimension throughout the watch. A newly developed bezel-to-case structure further exposes the metal centre case, creating a distinctive side profile that gives the iconic square silhouette a bold new expression.

The high-definition full-dot display offers four TIME MODE displays, which the user can select with the touch of a button.
