Review: Jabra Step Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Earbuds

Jabra as a brand is known for top notch Bluetooth accessories. The new Step Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Earbuds from the company is no different. The device screams top notch build quality and aesthetic design. The overall finishing of the product is similar to what you have come to expect of products from Jabra.

The Jabra Step is aimed at youngsters who listen to music, play games or take and make calls, while on the go. Weighing in at just 16.5 grams, the Step Wireless earbuds are quite light and fit snuggly into the ears.

Inside the packaging you get a choice of three types of angled eargels. The cords used on the Step Wireless are the kind that do not get tangled in. In addition, the cords are water and dust resistant. Hence, it also perfect for those who like to listen to music while working out.

The cord also includes in-line controls that make manging your calls and music quite straightforward. The in-line controls take care of commands such as turning on/off, answer/reject calls, play/stop music, next/previous song and volume control.

Jabra Step 2As for most wireless and portable accessories, everything boils down to the battery life. On a single charge, we were able to eke out around 5 hours of continuous music playback and talk time. When the battery life starts to run dry, a beep notification is played before the headset dies off.

Pairing the earbuds is a walk in the park. Just turn on Bluetooth of your phone and switch on the Bluetooth headset. You are then you’re ready to pair up the headset and enjoy your music or make calls without the hassle of tangled wires. We were able to get a wireless coverage in the radius of around 10 feet during our real world tests.

The sound quality of the Step Wireless was pretty good during phone calls. During music playback, the bass was quite clean and comfortable without distortion. In addition, the treble level was good, too.

Jabra Step 1

The earbuds are available in only black colour at the moment. With a proper fit, the Step Wireless actually provides quite a satisfying audio experience. In conclusion, all we can say is that the Jabra Step Wireless has got the right balance of features at a low price point without sacrificing quality.
