BenQ has announced the launch of a new monitor under their new ZOWIE game series branding, called XL2730Z. This one is a TN-based panel that offers 144-Hz gaming. It however has shielding to the left and right, and that makes it more unique as it helps in blocking light sources, while you game in privacy.
The new monitor comes with a DyAc technology that achieves remarkable clarity particularly for action packed games. The Shield helps you focus on the game by blocking out distractions, while the new S Switch with built-in memory allows for easy access of personal settings.
It also features a built-in Black eQualizer technology that brightens dark scenes without over-exposing the bright areas. The panel used is a 27-inch AUO TN (Twisted Nematic) panel with 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution, offering a 144Hz refresh rate (40 – 144Hz variable refresh rate).
Typical maximum brightness is 350 cd/m² while this monitor has the usual 170° horizontal and 160° viewing angles associated with this panel type. In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers Dual-Link DVI, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.2a and a 3.5mm microphone jack.
Furthermore, a 3.5mm microphone jack, 3.5mm headphone jack, and two USB 3.0 ports are included at the left side of the monitor. The included stand can be removed using a quick release button to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. Pricing is yet to be announced.
