Review: Legoland Water Park

While “everything was awesome” at Legoland Theme Park, the excitement dies down as soon as you enter Legoland Water Park. This is because Legoland Water Park is too tiny in comparison to almost anything at Dubai Parks and Resorts. We have previously reviewed both Legoland Theme Park and Motiongate, and we were quite disappointed with the number of rides available for use within Legoland Water Park.

While Legoland Water Park boasts of as much as 20 water slides including family raft, body and tube slides, the water park falls short of excitement, when compared to Iceland Water Park (RAK) and Yas Water World (Abu Dhabi). We will be reviewing both the aforementioned water parks – so stay tuned!

Coming back to Legoland Water Park, the place is quite suitable for kids aged between 2 and 12. However, in real world, kids between 2 and 6 will only get to splash around in the mini pools. Most rides such as the water slides and so on are for kids aged 7 and above. My 4 year old was very disappointed and the disappointment was quite evident on his tiny face. It was almost as if he wanted to scream out, “Why??!!”.

Rides and attractions at Lego Water Park include the LEGO Wave Pool, Build-A-Raft-River, DUPLO Splash Safari, Joker Soaker, Twin Chasers, Splash Out, Red Rush, Splash-N-Swirl, Twist-N-Spin, Wave Rider, Tidal Tubes, Build-A-Boat, Master Jugglers, Junior Joker, Jokester Run and LEGO Slide Racers. Quite a mouthful!

You will probably have more fun at Joker Soaker, LEGO Wave Pool, Red Rush, and the sliders. The kids will love Joker Soaker, Build-A-Raft, DUPLO Splash Safari, and Build-A-Boat. We could not find a few rides mentioned on their official website such as Master Jugglers, Junior Joker, Jokester Run and so on. Probably they were properly hidden or were non-existent.

Other Legoland Water Parks around the world have rides such as Pirate Reef, Soak-N-Sail, Splash Zoo, and so on. It would have been great if Legoland Water Park in Dubai had considered building them as part of the experience. We opted for the summer offer of AED 145 per person as the entry fees to the park.

The normal rates for entry at Legoland Water Park is AED 215, which sounds a bit steep, considering the rides and attractions offered. Legoland offers packages wherein you get to enjoy both Legoland Theme Park and Water Park at a discounted price, on the same day. It’s better if you consider using such a promotion, because experiencing just Legoland Water Park on its own is probably less bang for the buck.

Price: AED 215 (Adults) and AED 185 (Kids)
